Returning visitors is up.
December is up in the statistic I most appreciate, returning visitors. The increase is substantial and encouraging, even though the other stats are down. I interpret the increase to reflect two things: better communication about what Ralph Carlson Blog is all about for readers who just stumble in and content with enough value to encourage readers to return. I did make a commitment to leave more comments on other blogs. Nothing like John’s big goal, but I did probably get 40 in the month.
What’s with Google Page Rank?
On other stats, Google still doesn’t know I exist but my Alexa score has plummeted from 722.905 to 459,887. Even though Alexa scores are meaningless, I get satisfaction from the improvement.
More realistic goals for 2011
I am being more realistic with my goals this month. I will be happy if returning visitors increase another 10% and I would like to reverse the decline in the other stats. Keep up the writing and try to match John with commenting. Maybe add some more pints as well.
