Haiku on my Mind.
In addition to my blog here, I contribute to a more lighthearted blog called Cantankerous Old Coots. Over there, my compadres and I attempt to foster a spriti of cantankerosity in our rreaders. We aske readers to tell us what topics they would like discussed and then we deliver posts for that topic. Well this month the winner was haiku. We were all surprised that our audience was so sophistocated and literate but maybe they just wanted to put us on the spot.
More Bad Poetry for you
I just finished my response with four new haiku. I won’t pretend that they are good. They do meet the syllable requirement, however. Since I firmly believe that no bad poetry should go to waste, I have posted the new haiku on my Bad Poetry Page here at Ralph Carlson Blog for your pleasure or derision.
But wait, there’s more!
While I’m in the mood however, I decided to invest a little more time and write some retirement haiku.
Haiku One
What’s an evil plan?
Don’t do the usual thing
And surprise yourself
Haiku Two
What makes you happy?
What should fill your perfect day?
Dreams make it so.
Haiku Three
Who said you have to
do just what the others do
Search for your passion
Haiku Four
Retirement Lifestyle
Fulfilling lifelong wishes
Not just sleeping in
Vote for your favorite and when you comment, make it in haiku form. Three lines with five syllables in the first, seven in the second and five in the third.
