Organize by the week! A Breakthrough Idea

I have complained about my difficulty in organizing my time, getting the most out of the time I have and making sure that I take care of long term goals as well as those immediate calls for my attention that seem important at the time but do nothing about getting my to new achievements.  It turns out that, as usual, it is my own limited imagination that keeps me from seeing a better way.  Steve Scott has managed to get his life organized and profitable using the web but what got me excited today is his no nonsense way of planning his activities – by the week.  I am going to start using his system moving forward with some new goals and ideas for my web and business activities and I am optimistic that this powerful yet simple system will help me pick up momentum.  If you are having problems organizing your time, maybe Steve’s system is what you are looking for as well.

    Ralph,

I’m with you on this. I’ve just seen Steve’s system on his blog and it’s certainly worth trying. You can download a copy of Steve’s ‘to do’ from his blog.

    Regards

    Paul

Awww…thanks guys. You’re gonna make me blush.

Glad you found this stuff useful. To be honest, I stole this idea from my dad who is a genius when it comes to system and organization. One of these days when the two of use have more time, I’m going to get some of his thoughts on the matter and turn it into a few blog posts.

    Hi Ralph,

I’m always making daily to-do lists but Steve’s idea about planning tasks around a whole week is awesome.

Thanks for the link to another great site. I can definitely use Steve’s idea.

Just came across this post now and it reminded me that I never replied to your comment on Facebook about my new posting structure.

Basically, like you were expressing here, I got fed up with deciding on a day by day basis what to write about. So I’ve taken a different day of the week and dedicated each to a different theme. The 1 minute motivators are still daily but I’ve then thrown in things like today’s Charity Tuesday (links with Twitter’s day of the same name) Wednesday Warmers to help get folks over the trauma of hump day and a round up post on a Saturday called ‘Saturday Smoothy’

It’s only a week in but already its been a big help as I’ve now started to map out entire chunks of post titles using a spread sheet.

Whatever works is my motto but I have trouble staying on track with a schedule of topics. Too much of a flibbertigibbit I guess.
