Time is fleeting!
Well we have less than two weeks left before Christmas. I don’t know where the time goes? No tree left. The Christmas cards are still in the box. I haven’t started shopping. It goes without saying that I haven’t dredged up a drop of Christmas spirit. The season was different when I went to work every day and had small kids at home. Back then there wasn’t an option.
That was then, this is now.
I’ll do what I have to do. But just now, it isn’t clear just what that means. What do I need to do? What would be nice to do? And what doesn’t mean shit?
Today, I’m even less inspired than usual. My supply of pontification has run dry. Today, I’m asking readers to help me out . What are your Christmas spirit priorities? I see about five major areas contributing to the nurturing of Christmas spirit. What is your perspective on the importance of each?

If I didn’t want to know, I wouldn’t have asked. But how about those grandkids? Are you Scrooge?

Scrooge only by default. Their parents buy them so much crap for Xmas, it leaves us little left to get them at Toys R Us.

Ah, Hansi,
But their parents can’t give them a fishing trip with Grandpa.

Bill,
Good for you. Did a bunch or cards yesterday. No tree yet, Maybe this weekend. Thinking about doing a Gordon Ramsey Beef Wellington for Christmas – as soon as we learn if Walmart will let our son have Christmas with us.

I really love this time of the year-the lights,decorations,music-I just don’t feel like doing any of the work. I haven’t finished my Christmas cards yet.I have been going places that are already decorated and enjoying it immensely. I’m just keeping it real simple this year.

Donna,
That’s a great approach. Take advantage of all the Christmas investment other people are making. It still lets you experience the Christmas spirit
