Last year I felt ambitious. I convinced myself that I could learn anything I wanted to.   I was not going to allow myself to limit my potential.  Comediy had  always more than I could handle.  I never told jokes because I did it badly.  No one ever laughed because my timing was bad, my delivery was bad and my heart just wasn’t in it. But I wasn’t going to let my lack of talent stop me.  I decided to explore comedy.  I discovered that comedy is hard work and that the successful take years to refine their material and delivery  I did some research and learned more about the ways to be funny.    Part of my research was to watch some really good comedians in classic movies.   By then there was no stopping me.  I knew that even I could be funny if only I would put my heart and soul into it.  I had to give a speech to an industry group.  I made up my mind that I would start the speech with a joke – whatever the consequences might be. It worked out better than I hoped.  Everybody has it in them to be more and do more than they think.  Amaze yourself and try something you think you can’t do.  It is exhilarating.
